Architects in Cheltenham, Hereford, Worcester and Ludlow

KODA architects in Cheltenham have a history of success in the Regency town ranging from sensitive repair and conservation through to extensions and adaptations to replacement dwellings. Working closely with the local authority and the wider design team, KODA architects can lead the process through inception through to completion.

KODA architects work across the region and have a strong presence in the Regency town of Cheltenham. Conservation throughout the town is key. Cheltenham has one of the largest conservation areas in the country and was one of the earliest to be defined. As such so much of the building stock in the town is listed and if not listed many of the buildings contribute to the settling of neighbouring listed buildings or the conservation area themselves.

As Architects, working in the Regency City of Cheltenham is pleasure. Architecture in Cheltenham is described as one of the most complete Regency towns in England. The architecture of the town is a direct result of their time, when Britain was leading the world and when the City prospered from riches across one of the world’s largest empires.

As such, the architecture of the town is of a uniform style as it was built in a short space of time instead of over a longer period of time where different architectural tastes would define housing stock.  Today, one of the largest conservation areas in the country occupies most of the town which is sub-divided into a number of character areas. As architects working in Cheltenham, any changes we propose to a heritage asset either internally or externally we are careful in our proposals to considered to manage the impact on the significance of the building. Working with the buildings, KODA architects seek to sensitively adapt existing building stock enhancing it, adapting it for modern family life.

The team at KODA architects have a proven track record of working in Cheltenham and this foundation allows us to know the how the town has developed and the significance of the buildings which inhabit it. For more information on our Cheltenham based projects see our portfolio page or a small sample below:

We’re delighted to be appointed for a new project at the Pentre, near Abergavenny. The scheme will involve sensitive internal re-ordering alongside carefully considered contemporary additions to the rear, designed to sit comfortably with the historic parkland setting.

Good progress showcasing National Heritage Lottery Funded new #cotswoldstone roof slates at a church repair in #gloucestershire. The new stone blends wells with the existing with a range of hues and colours. Stone roof slating is becoming increasingly rare due to cost of the material and limited numbers of suppliers but it’s definitely worth the effort.
